These pictures were taken at Rocky Mountain National Park, just west of Estes Park. I wasn't able to get close enough for some really good shots with my current lenses, but managed to zoom in for some OK shots - not that I could, or would want to get close; have a look at the close-up of one of the elk ;-) The are guides to keep people at a distance. The elk are accustomed to seeing people from far away, but getting close can be very dangerous.
